Classic Cars Come to Glasswells...
Sunday 10th May will see the Glasswells car park at Bury St Edmunds transformed into a haven for Classic car lovers, as it stages the start of the South Suffolk Classic Car Run.
Spectators are very welcome to come along and see up to 90 cars start the run which follows a route across local counties, finishing at the South Suffolk Show at Ampton, just a few miles North of Bury St Edmunds. The oldest entry so far is a 1938 Hillman Magnificent and there are many others including a Lotus Elan Spirit, Daimler 250, Alfa Romeos and MGs.
The event is run by the Eastern Counties & West Suffolk Motor Clubs and is sponsored by Kerridges of Needham Market and Glasswells, each car also gains sponsorship, all with the aim of raising vital funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Paul Glasswell will start the run, with the first car leaving at 8.30am and it will be action packed from then with cars leaving every minute. Glasswells are opening their Place to Eat restaurant from 7.30am for participants and spectators to grab a spot of breakfast or a coffee as they wait.
Paul Glasswell comments, "This is something completely different for Glasswells and promises to be a really fun event. Everyone is welcome to come along and we wish all participants an enjoyable run."
