Classic Cars Galore at Glasswells...
Yesterday (Sunday) saw Glasswells Bury St. Edmunds' car park transformed with over 50 classic cars lined up to start the South Suffolk Classic Car Run.
The sun was glorious as the impressive cars arrived, everything from a 1934 Bugatti and 1935 Chevrolet Master to classic Porsche, Lotus to MGB plus many more. Paul Glasswell, Glasswells Managing Director, started the run at 8.30am with cars following every one minute thereafter.
Weaving through the country roads the cars visited scenes of historic interest starting with the Prickwillow Drainage Engine Museum, then across the fens to Oxburgh Hall, Pakenham Windmill and onto the finish at the South Suffolk Show at Ampton.
The event was run by the Eastern Counties & West Suffolk Motor Clubs and was sponsored by Kerridges of Needham Market and Glasswells, the aim was to have as much fun as possible whilst raising vital funds for the East Anglian Air Ambulance.
Paul Glasswell commented, "What a fantastic day to choose for the car run. It was nice to use our large car park for something a little different. We opened up The Place to Eat Restaurant especially for the event so drivers and spectators alike could have a hearty bacon bap and steaming coffee to set them on their way. We hope all the drivers enjoyed themselves as much as we did."
